AD Plastik Group today became 100% owner of Hungarian company Tisza Automotive Kft., thus achieving key goals of business strategy and medium-term development plan. This acquisition will also ensure further growth of AD Plastik Group and expansion of customer portfolio.
Tisza Automotive is a plastic components manufacturer with more than 15 years of experience in the automotive industry. It is a leading supplier of Suzuki factory in Hungary and, apart from Suzuki, the most important customers are Bentley and Volkswagen, for which the company is a first level supplier. Key technologies of Hungarian factory are injection moulding and blow moulding, which are compatible with existing technologies of AD Plastik Group. Company has more than 400 employees and the land of production halls, warehouses and offices amounts to 22,400 square meters. Tisza Automotive, as a second level supplier, produces for other car manufacturers, therefore Rehau, APCB, Reydel, Hanon Systems, Vernicolor, Mitsuba, Heycoustics and others are on their customer list.
„Potential acquisitions have been discussed and announced for a long time and this is part of our business strategy. Central and Eastern Europe are one of the fastest growing markets in the automotive industry so Tisza Automotive was a logical choice. Their geographical position is very good compared to car manufacturers in that part of Europe, they have experience in the automotive industry and a good customer portfolio and they use and develop the same technologies as we do. After a due diligence of the company, we recognized their further development and growth potential and the positive effects of taking over. With this acquisition, we expand our customer portfolio and create good prerequisites for achieving planned growth of the Group,” said President of the Management Board Marinko Došen.

As part of the Croatian Exporters Convention, which was held this year under the title Export as a Generator of Growth and Development of the Republic of Croatia, the Golden Key Award was traditionally awarded. AD Plastik received the Golden Key Award once again as the best exporter to the Slovenian market.
„For several years in a row now, AD Plastik has been winning the Golden Key award, which is another in the series of confirmation of our success. Slovenia is an extremely important market for us considering that Renault’s plant Revoz, one of our biggest customers, is located there,. With regard to the new deals sealed with Revoz, further growth is expected in this market,” said Sanja Biočić, Member of the Management Board, while receiving the award.
Among other things, the convention emphasized that of all Croatian companies, 15 percent are exporters employing 51 percent of all workers and accounting for 75 percent of total profits. The Declaration of Croatian Exporters 2018 states that exporters advocate for the application of new technologies, noting that it depends not only on entrepreneurs but also on combining economic policy measures in the field of industrial development, innovation, infrastructure and education.
President of the Croatian Exporters Association Darinko Bago on that occasion said that exporters are the best part of the economy, and as such they may be the only basis for quality changes.
About ten of the leading Japanese companies during their three-day business visit to Croatia visted also the AD Plastik Plant in Zagreb. This first major visit by Japanese businessmen was organized by the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts, the Japan Embassy in Croatia and the JETRO Regional Office (Japan’s Foreign Trade Organization) in cooperation with the Investment and Competitiveness Agency, the Croatian Chamber of Economy and the Association of Foreign Investors in Croatia.
Among the Japanese businessmen there were the representatives of Mitsubishi, Japan Tobacco International, Daikin, Hino Motors, Sumitomo Electric Hartmetall, Kajimo, Mizuho Bank and Itochu. AD Plastik Group already has established business communication with the company Itochu that will surely be eased considering the enthusiasm of the company’s representatives with Zagreb plant.
„Representatives of leading Japanese companies were delighted with the technologies we use in our plant in Jankomir Zagreb, and the quality of our products. After the company’s presentation and plant tour, their impressions were best seen in the questions that they had for us. They were interested in what the switching to electric vehicles means for us, which are the benefits of the arrival of Japanese investors in Croatia, aswell as the history and development of the AD Plastik Group in a country that has no automotive industry. This was an extremely interesting and successful visit, and we are particularly pleased with the enthusiasm of Mr. Hashimoto from the company Itochu,” said Toni Štambuk, Sales Director of AD Plastik for the EU market.
Slovenian assembly plant Revoz located in Novo Mesto celebrated the production of the four millionth Renault car it has assembled in its plant. It’s about silver Renault Clio with diesel engine that was manufactured for the French market.
Today Revoz is one hundred percent owned by French Renault, and the plant in Novo Mesto has been writing new chapters of development and progress in automotive industry alongside with Renault for 46 years now. It took twenty years for the plant in Novo Mesto to produce the first million of vehicles, the last million of vehicles was produced in the last seven years, and they plan to reach a number of five million vehicles in the next three and a half to four years. “In Revoz, we have produced this four millionth car in the period when the plant returns to the old routes of Renault Group’s most efficient subsidiaries. With the new development cycle, we are planning to introduce state-of-the-art technologies in the areas of digitalization, automation and electrical and autonomous mobility,” said Kaan Ozkan, President of the Management Board of Revoz on this occasion.
Revoz brings together various suppliers among which AD Plastik is very important. Particularly significant was the collaboration on the Edison project, thanks to which Revoz was highlighted as a key part of the Alliance Renault-Nissan and German Daimler partnerships in 2014. Twingo III and Smart ForFour are produced exclusively in Novo Mesto and they were joined by the electric Smart ForFour, with which Revoz has entered into a new era of electrical mobility development. Since mid-2017, a part of program of fourth-generation Clio model has been produced in Revoz plant.
According to Marinko Došen, President of the Management Board of AD Plastik, last year Revoz’s share in the total revenue of AD Plastik was 20 percent. “We still want to build our cooperation primarily on trust and quality, and in such a manner develop and improve our partnership. The cooperation between Revoz and AD Plastik has undergone various phases. We used to deliver door panels and parts of instrument panel for Renault 4 and Renault 5 models, and today Twingo, which is produced in this plant, has 212 parts manufactured by AD Plastik. A major breakthrough in our collaboration was the Edison project, namely the production of Twingo and Smart, which was one of the reasons for the construction of a brand new and robotized painting line in Zagreb. AD Plastik also participates in the development of the products and tools together with Renault, and we are facing the production of components within the new Clio BJA project. I’m sure this is just one of our many future successful projects. In 2017, over nine million parts produced in our plants were delivered to Revoz,” Marinko Došen pointed out.
In 2017 Revoz revenue amounted to almost EUR 1.6 billion and profit amounted to nearly EUR 35 million and EUR 40.2 million has been invested. It is the largest exporter in Slovenia and the third largest company in that country. Revoz has produced 189,687 vehicles in 2017, and in record 2009 it produced 212,680 vehicles. That record has not been surpassed to this day, but we would not be surprised if the record was to be exceeded in the foreseeable future.
